HEALTH CARE AND THE EMBEDDED REAL ESTATE TAX:  There is and will continue to be a lot of confusion regarding if there is a real estate tax included in the Obama Health Care Plan or not.  Here is a link.  Even after you read it you will still be confused.  Homeowners of more expensive homes will need to consult a tax specialist to see exactly how selling their home after this bill takes effect in 2014 will apply to them.  In the mean while, you should make certain you attend any future courses given on the subject.  A lot of folks say it won’t affect that many people.  If it affects just ONE person it is too many.  Remember, Louisina just passed state law forbidding just this type of action.  Imagine that.  http://www.snopes.com/politics/taxes/realestate.asp 

LATEST NUGGET FOR THE NOGGIN:  I Earned The Coast Guard Medal by Jim “Gymbeaux” Brown.  Some folks are not going to like this – tuff.  I earned the right to say it as have millions of other veterans.  www.NuggetsForTheNoggin.com If you can’t tell after reading it, I am a bit upset.  There is no accountability for Supreme Court Justices; NONE!  In fact there is NOTHING SUPREME about any one of them especially when you consider they almost always vote on party lines.  How can that be fair and unbiased?  Just asking. 

KELLER WILLIAMS MEGA CAMP:  September 18-21 in Austin Texas.  The BIG news is that John Maxwell will be the featured speaker.  If you have never heard Maxwell speak, you are missing something very special.  Mega Camp is a fabulous 4 day experience where you can both learn things you can immediately use to grow your business and create life-long relationships with other like-minded Keller Williams agents throughout the country.  It is hard for me to imagine attending and not learning something that would bring you a sale you otherwise would not have made thus repaying you for your INVESTMENT (as compared to COST) to attend.  If you want to really grow your profit tree, invite someone other than Keller Williams agent to go with you and pay their way.  It will come back to you more than you can imagine!  To register and I sincerely hope everyone of you do, go to http://www.kw.com/eventReg/secure/user/GetEvent.do?eventId=3135 

IMPORTANT eEDGE INFORMATION:  I believe we have a handle on making the compliance review process better for everyone.  You will soon see a change in the available CHECKLISTS.  There will be a checklist for every type of transaction.  Before some of the forms listed will be an ASTERISK (*) which will mean that the form(s) is considered as REQUIRED for this particular type of transaction.  If for some reason the form(s) is NOT required, you need only provide an explanation in the notes section to let me know not to look for the form.  Example, Sellers Property Disclosure is NOT required on HUD, REO, Estate, etc transactions.  Simply insert the reason it is NOT included.  

FIREWORKS AND FINISHING WITH A BANG!  By Jon Gordon.  Boy did he hit the nail on the head with this one!  In 32 years I have seen this over and over again.  Agents go in and WOW the owners with a fantastic listing presentation only to be nowhere to be found 2 weeks later.  Some agents are great presenters but are not good on following up with customers or keeping them in the loop.  If that describes you, maybe it is time for an assistant to do the “grunt” work for you to keep how good you are in front of the customer FOREVER, AND FOREVER MEANS JUST THAT FOREVER!  http://www.jongordon.com/positive-tip-fireworks.html 

YOUR  ST˜R  POWER, SCRIPTS FOR YOUR SUCCESS FROM HOWARD BRINTON:  www.StarPower.com.  Prospecting; Asking for Referrals:  “Who do you know (within your group) at this time that may be thinking of buying or selling real estate?”  GYMBEUAX NOTE:  If you ask the question in general, who do you know (of all the hundreds of names you may know, you cannot expect someone to be able to mentally scan the hundreds of names in their mental memory bank in just 2 or 3 seconds to find the one or two who may need your service and you get a “no, no one” response.  BUT, when you ask, who do you know in your PTA, your Garden Club, your Golf Group, etc, using only one of the example groups, not all, it is much easier for someone to think of 8, 20, or 35 members than hundreds and hundreds of people they may know and hopefully you get a name or two.  Which would you prefer?)

GRATITUDE – HIGH VALUE TASKS

One of the problems with having your own business, especially if you're just starting, is that there's only one employee.  The successful approach is to hire out as much of the stuff that is not revenue producing or creative as you can.  Work on high value tasks. 

I know, that's a good theory but in practice it can be hard to do.  So the next best thing is to work on the high value tasks FIRST, and work on them when you're fresh. 

Work on product creation and marketing. Work at learning new skills. Get ideas whirling around in your brain and combining in new ways. 

Study the works of experts and get new ideas. Plan your future.  Save the routine admin tasks for later when your brain needs a rest. 

Now, most people are better in the morning but not all. I know some of you are night owls.  If you get creative when the sun goes down, work your schedule around that. 

Having a job doesn't stop you from using this process to plan your escape. 

Bob Proctor got up 1/2 hour earlier each morning and wrote. In a year he had a book - "You Were Born Rich."  What will you have a year from now?

THE LIFE YOU SAVE MAY BE YOUR OWN – PASS THIS ON, PLEASE.

Mayo  Clinic Aspirin

Dr. Virend Somers, is a Cardiologist from the Mayo Clinic, who is lead author of the report in the July 29, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.   Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally between 6 A.M. and noon. Having one during the night, when the heart should be most at rest, means that something unusual happened. Somers and his colleagues have been working for a decade to show that sleep apnea is to blame.     

1. If you take an aspirin or a baby aspirin once a day, take it at night.   The reason: Aspirin has a 24-hour "half-life"; therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the s of the morning, the therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee (that is early morning hours for you-know-who) hours of the morning, the Aspirin would be strongest in your system.   Aspirin would be strongest in your system.   

2. FYI, Aspirin lasts a really long time in your medicine chest for years, (when it gets old, it smells like vinegar).

Something that we can do to help ourselves - nice to know - Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve instantly on the tongue.   They work much faster than the tablets.
Why keep Aspirin by your bedside? It's about Heart Attacks - There are other symptoms of a heart attack, besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating; however, these symptoms may also occur  less frequently.

Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a heart attack.   The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep did not wake up.   However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.  If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.

Afterwards:

·         Call 911.
·         Phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close  by.
·         Say "heart attack!"
·         Say that you have taken 2 Aspirins.
·         Take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and                         

DO NOT LIE DOWN!

A Cardiologist has stated that if each person after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life could be saved!

Gymbeaux Note:  From personal experience, I had no warnings that I was having a “heart incident”.  It occurred at about 2:00 pm.  I went upstairs and when I got to the top of the stairs I could not catch my breath.  That feeling did not go away and I asked myself the question:  “Should I go to the emergency room?”  The question was answered – of course you should if you thought of it.  I did and had a 5-By-Pass procedure within 24 hours.  If you have to ask the question, the answer should be obvious!

ONE MORE LIFE SAVING TIP:  Go to your cell phone, IMMEDIATELY, NOT TOMORROW, enter a new contact and label it ICE (PLUS THE NAME OF THE PERSON YOU WANT TO CONTACT)  Example, I entered ICE Diane Brown (my wife) and her cell phone number.  You can also enter ICE1, ICE2, etc with different names and phone numbers.  If something should happen to you, First Responders are trained to look into the person’s cell phone contacts and look first for ICE – In Case of Emergency.  Trust me on this one – just do it and do it sooner rather than later!  That’s an order J
