Newsletter for the Week Ending Dec 28 2012

"The illiterates of the future are NOT those who can't read or write but those who cannot LEARN, UNLEARN and RELEARN."

THE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION FORMULA FOR ACHIEVEMENT!  Guess is that most folks, certainly not you, are going to make New Year’s resolutions and by the end of January they will be nothing more than history in your life.  Jeffery Gitomer has a FORMULA to achieve whatever it is you want to achieve.  A twist on the things you may have heard in the past (unlearn) and then a formula (relearn) to get exactly what you want to get.  In this case, you CAN READ…….for a CHANGE by going to:  http://www.gitomer.com/articles/ViewPublicArticle.html?key=ajcdMibak3N7OgNs00sHXQ%3D%3D  Unfortunately some will read it and that will be GREAT!  Most won’t and that will truly be a pity and their loss!

THE KEY TO HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS; GREAT MESSAGE DURING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, from Jon Gordon.  http://www.jongordon.com/christmas2012.html

YOUR  STA˜R  POWER, SCRIPTS FOR YOUR SUCCESS FROM HOWARD BRINTON:  www.StarPower.com.  PRICING, USE FACT AND DATA; “The sum total of activity in the marketplace is just ____ (enter the number of sales per month) sales a month in your price range.  Right now there are ____ (enter the number of comparable homes) comparable homes on the market.  Do you want your home to e one of the four that sell or do you want to be one of the (enter the difference) that don’t sell?  That is the very important question we must answer tonight.”

WISDOM FROM MICHAEL DUNN, author of What’s The BIG Secret.  Special note from page 183 at this Christmas season:  “We grow as our soul grows.  It doesn’t matter how smart you are.  It’s just not one of the requirements.  He who reads the most grows the most.  He who grows the most knows the most.  He who knows the most has the freedom to make his (or her) own decisions in life instead of depending on others to do it for him (or her)./  It breeds freedom in relationships, finances, and life overall.  Here is the meaning of “All men are created equal.”  Anyone can become great from just doing the simply tasks of feeding his or her soul by reading, listening, and learning.  (Gymbeaux Note:  Not to correct Michael but it IS possible to read, listen and watch things that will NOT help you grow; you must be selective in what you read, listen to or watch.  Start by reading Michael Dunn’s “What’s the BIG Secret?”)

THE GENIUS OF JOE TYE; NEVER FEAR; NEVER QUIT; EXPECT A MIRACLE!  Rule #8:    FEAR IS MANY TOMORROWS, COURAGE IS ONE TODAY!  Don’t get crushed between the anvil of yesterday’s regrets and the hammer of tomorrow’s worries.   http://www.sparkstore.com/success-motivation-book-cd-nfnq.html

THE WORLD OF RODNEY DANGERFIELD:   Last night my wife met me at the front door. She was wearing a sexy negligee. The only trouble was she was coming home.

UNDENIABLE TRUTHS: “Goals, make sure you are asking for the right thing.  Don’t CHASE what you don’t really want; and don’t WANT what you know you can’t have.  Wishful thinking is HOPING for something and waiting for someone else to make it happen.  Positive thinking is EXPECTING something and working (taking action) to make it happen!”  Joe Tye

AND THEN THE COACH SAID:  Show me a good and gracious loser.......and I'll show you a failure."  Knute Rockne / Notre Dame

SOMETHING FOR TODAY’S WORLD:  Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.  Will Rogers

ARE YOU A PICKLE SUCKER OR ARE YOU SOMEONE WHO WILL…….  Read the rest of this written by Joe Tye.  I try not to be a “pickle sucker”, most of the time I am successful; some of the time no so much.  How about you?  Are you even aware that you might be a “pickle sucker?”  Read this to find out; the answer may surprise you:  http://tinyurl.com/d2l4mra

WHEN YOU WATCH THIS, YOU DON’T HAVE TO KNOW WHAT IS BEING SAID, THE LESSON IS CLEAR; DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BUT ITS COVER:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ46Ot4_lLo

WES HOPPER’S DAILY GRATITUDE EZINE IS RIGHT ON TARGET!  It goes hand-in-hand with the title of my Ezine; Read for a change.  As so often said, you can READ…….for a change.  Or, you can Read for a……CHANGE!  Which are you?  Can you learn something new, can you unlearn something you learned in the past that no longer works.  Can you then relearn?

GRATITUDE – THE ILLITERATES OF THE FUTURE

"The illiterates of the future are not those who can't read or write but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn."

Alvin Toffler

Most people would say that we live in times of change. The world seems to rearrange itself on a regular basis, sometimes at an astonishing rate.

We need to keep that in mind. Our natural tendency is to figure something out and then rely on it being the right answer for a long time.

Sometimes that works, but more often it doesn't work well at all anymore.

Get a good job and keep it until retirement? Gone! Unless you want a low skills job.  (Gymbeaux note:  You have already discovered this by obtaining your real estate license and became a business owner who now works for himself or herself and now only you set your limits either consciously or subconsciously.)

You must have a college education? Maybe, but most new hi-tech companies are started by college drop-outs playing with technology because it's fun!

If you're reading this, you know what I mean. In your life, in your business, what do you have to unlearn and relearn?

You don't have to chase every new fad, but you do have to see what might have staying power.

And that's true in your life, and relationships, and goals, too.

Always be learning (based). But most importantly, always be unlearning (based).  (Gymbeaux Note:  You CAN teach an old dog new tricks except for maybe you-know-who.)

Reinvent yourself regularly.

All the best, Wes
