QUOTE:  "There is no defense against adverse fortune which is so effectual as an habitual sense of humor."  Thomas W. Higginson (Author, 1823-1911)

FROM THE WORLD OF STEVEN WRIGHT:  For my birthday I got a humidifier and a dehumidifier. I put them in the same room and let them fight it out.

WISDOM FROM MICHAEL DUNN, author of “What’s The BIG Secret?”  Keeping a journal is something corporations, professional athletic teams, entrepreneurs, and 3%’s (you need to read the book for an explanation) claim is a necessity.  Even though they might not call it a journal, they all use some type of written record to keep up with progress and set goals so their subconscious brain can retrieve all necessary information needed to accomplish the task it has been handed. (From page 149).  Gymbeaux Note:  Gary Keller teaches to keep, as he does, a spiral bound notebook.  In it he writes down everything that occurs, anything worth keeping a record of, goals, notes, quotes, training notes from classes attended, books, etc.  Each notebook has a beginning date and when the pages are completely filled up, an ending date.  He keeps his notebooks literally forever.

THE POSITIVE PLEDGE, by Jon Gordon.  If we all did this every day, do you think our attitudes would be better?  http://www.jongordon.com/newsletter-positive-pledge.html

GET MAD AT THEM DAMN EGGS!  Joe Tye says it all about overcoming life’s challenges and staying positive in this very short and meaningful article:  http://tinyurl.com/7jdacab

VALUES = >BEHAVIORS = >OUTCOMES!  If you KNOW, and more importantly PRACTICE your core values, that will result in greater BEHAVIORS that in turn will result in greater OUTCOMES!  Another short but extremely valuable lesson from Joe Tye:  http://tinyurl.com/7rqb8zh

GREAT FREE APP:  Every look at a star in the sky and wonder what it is called or could it possibly be a planet?  Everyone has.  There is a free app for your smart phones and tablets that tells you in an instant.  Look for and download Google Star Map.  Example, my grandson and I were looking at the stars and one seemed to be red.  Loaded the Star Map and surprise, it was in fact the planet MARS.  We turned around and saw two more bright stars and they turned out to be Jupiter and Venus.  He now checks out the heavens on a regular basis; he is fascinated and that is a good thing.

GYMBEAUX NOTE ON THE MILLIONAIRE REAL ESTATE AGENT:  I am always shocked to learn just how many people in business, not just real estate, have not read The Millionaire Real Estate Agent.  I can understand why people not in the real estate business might not pick up the book, but real estate agents not reading it – shocking.  Don’t let the title confuse you.  Yes it is about netting $1,000,000 in commissions IF YOU WANT TO; BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE $1,000,000 (some agents just think that means working much harder than they want to).  You can use the principles in the book to net $20,000, $300,000, $1,000,000 or whatever income you desire.  If someone gave you the key to a chest loaded with treasure, would you not use the key to open the chest?  Of course you would.  Gary Keller, Dave Jenks and Jay Papasan have done just that; given you the key to an unlimited future.  They interviewed over 50 real estate agents who have netted over one million dollars from a lot of different real estate companies and discovered that they were all doing very similar activities to do so.  This book represents the results of those activities and describes them in a very easy to understand AND PERFORM reading.  But there’s the rub so to speak, you first have to read it.  I must have said this over a thousand times, the book is about building a business any business not just real estate to whatever size business you desire.  As important, it is NOT about the money you can make in your business, instead it is about what the money can do for you to achieve your life’s goals and/or mission.  Whether you want to build a SUCCESSFUL real estate business or a donut shop, don’t just read this book – MAKE A STUDY OF IT!
