Online Newsletter for the Week of February 28

SPECIAL NOTE: Due to the Keller Williams Family Reunion, this weekly newsletter is being posted earlier than usual to avoid not getting it posted.

QUOTE: “Follow-up is another word for persistence. Your ability to follow-up will determine your success in sales. Ask any professional salesperson the secret for success, he or she will answer...persistence.” -Jeffrey Gitomer The Little e-Book of Follow-Up

GREAT BONUS QUOTE: “Burnout is the breaking-point result of accumulated resistance to non-genius activity.” Tommy Newberry This is from his book recommended below. What it means is that if you spend a lot of time on performing non-productive tasks, you will experience burnout for lack of production.

A SALES TOOL THAT ACTUALLY WORKS FOR YOU. Jeffrey Gitomer is promoting a customer tracking program called Ace of Sales. You can learn more by going to: http://www.gitomer.com/salesMagazine/ViewEzine.html?ezineId=1079

BOOK RECOMMENDATION: Everybody wants something; the question is how bad do you want it? What is your passion? Are you working on your passion? I like to think I read so you don’t have to and when I find a book that can make a difference I let you know about. “Success is NOT an Accident” by Tommy Newberry is such a book. When you read it, if you read it, you will undoubtedly recall a great many of the lessons that you have learned elsewhere. This book not only brings them all together, Newberry makes sense of the path that will lead you to your desired outcome. The noted Brian Tracy said about the book, “This enjoyable, fast-moving book is full of great ideas and insights anyone can use to enjoy a better life.” I could not agree more. Newberry will ask you questions of yourself the answer to which will embarrass you; guaranteed. You are a genius at what you do, except for maybe you-know-who, and if that is the case, and it is, consider this Newberry quote: “Burnout is the breaking-point result of accumulated resistance to non-genius activities.” Most burnout results from performing what are considered non-dollar productive activities because they constitute “busy work” and you get to check off a lot of items on your daily to-do list giving you a false sense of accomplishment. Amen. Read and work the book, if not for you, for your family. www.TommyNewberry.com

JOHN CUMMUTA DEBT TO WEALTH PROGRAM: Lots of talk about debt lately. Just about everyone has it. John Cummuta has been all over the radio promoting his Debt to Wealth program. Received a link to day and checked it out. He will send you a ton of stuff for $39.95 that guides you through his program (not endorsing it, just advising). He is currently offering a rebate that brings the cost down to only $9.95 for all his materials. Hard to go wrong for only $9.95. PAPERLESS UPDATE:

In a perfect world every agent would properly label their uploads, example, one file would read: MLS: Listing Agreement; Listing Agreement Addendum; Agency Disclosure; Seller Net Sheet, etc. Forms that no one will see except the listing agent and the broker. Another file would include: Property Disclosure; Waiver of Redhibition; Mold Disclosure; Lead Base Paint, etc, forms that would be uploaded to the MLS in addition to the paperless system. A third file could be used to identify forms not included in the list of forms such as Survey; Home Warranty Agreement; Corporate Resolution, etc. Many associates are mislabeling their file label, example, the label will read MLS but when it is uploaded it will be anything but the MLS. Some are using only letters, example, “F” to identify the file and there is no way to know what is in the file.

Another on-going issue involves scanning. Several uploads have either the top and/or the bottom of the form being scanned cut off. These must be rescanned. You must be able to reproduce the entire form by printing it out whenever it is asked for. Cut off forms, crooked forms, forms that at best can’t be read (quality of product) really need to be rescanned. The paperless system is a great program but will be only as good as the products we save.

WARNING: Received note that members of the Real Estate Commission may be visiting offices where there were associates who failed to renew their licenses on time to ascertain if those licensees were in fact engaged in real estate between January 1 and whenever they actually renewed their licenses.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  On February 28th, a Great American was born - ME!  Don't send flowers and gifts, send new agents to the team!  :-)
